Unit review

Overview

During this class period students will review the topics that were covered in the unit in an interactive group activity. Students will have completed a review sheet on the Unit topics for homework. That will help spark their knowledge to play class Jeopardy. The class will be split into two teams and answer questions based on the unit. The team with the highest score at the end of the game is the winner.

Instruction


Opening

To begin class I will ask the students if they have any questions on the review sheet as I go around and check to see that they have completed it for homework.(5-10min) After all questions have been addressed I will then explain the review Jeopardy game that we will then play.

Activities

I will divide the group into two different teams randomly and have them sit on different sides of the room in their groups. I will randomly have a group pic a question to answer. They will have 30sec to answer the question by team deliberation. After time is up they are to answer if they are right then that team gets the points if they are wrong the question goes to the second team where they only have 15 seconds to answer correctly for the points. If neither team answers correctly no points will be awarded and then we will quickly go over that topic so students get the correct answer. This will continue until all questions have been answered.

Closing

After the completion of the game I will explain to students the set up of the exam that is to be given the next class. I will then answer any last minute questions they have again.

Assessment Notes

I will check to see if homework was completed for a homework grade. I will assess students knowledge on the questions asked. Student participation will also be assessed.
